We started BloggEd in August, not really knowing what to expect. Five months, 186 posts, 12,857 page views, and 453 spam comments (thanks for blocking, WordPress!) later …. we still don’t know what to expect. What we do know is that it has been a big bowl of fun doing this blog. In the New Year, as Maria studies in Paris, Lizy enjoys her last semester at Vassar (and not so much enjoys writing her senior history thesis), Gigi dispenses high-quality advice at Swarthmore, and Ben returns from sabbatical to teach journalism at the University of Delaware, we will keep trying to outdo ourselves, and each other, with truly poppin’ posts.
I actually lied a minute a go. We did learn something about blogging. And that is if you want a really well-read post, include an image that a lot of people will search for. That’s got to be why our most popular post ever was one Ben did back in October, about the University of Delaware’s reputation as a party school. The reason? If you go to Google Images and search for “party hat,” that post comes up, because it contains a picture of, well, a party hat.
So with that in mind:
Happy New Year, everybody!
—Ben, Gigi, Lizy, and Maria
