This morning, I woke up early to work on an astrophysics problem set.
There are so many things wrong with the above sentence.
Being someone who is generally terrified of numbers and all things sciency, I begrudgingly looked past Yale’s cruel and unusual requirements when I accepted admission. I told myself, as did their brochures, that the two science, two math requirement is a great way to step out of your comfort zone and take classes you wouldn’t have normally taken. My tourguide also told me that there were easy way to fulfill these requirements.
False. The Biology of Sexuality, aka “Porn in the Morn,” was stripped of its science credit, so now I’ve been forced to take classes that involve problem sets and test tubes. Right now I’m taking Galaxies in the Universe, which really is fascinating, but I do not appreciate the obscene amount of formulas and term memorization. How many requirements are too many?
I’m jealous of Elizabeth who can take psych and fulfill both her science and quantitative reqs. I’m also jealous of Emma Watson, who at Brown has NO reqs at all.
