As mentioned, I am fortunate enough to be on sabbatical this semester. I am taking the opportunity to spend ten days hiking in some National Parks out west, after the tourist season and the heat of the summer—the trip being partly an excuse for my recent paucity of posts. So far, I’ve hit Zion and Bryce Canyon. Tomorrow I’ll have a brief visit to Grand Teton, and I’ll finish with four days in Yellowstone, though the fire out there is “concerning,” as they say.
In the above-linked post, I already had my say on the Sabbatical: Scam or Menace? question. But I will add one thing: in just four days on the trails I have thought thoughts and ideated ideas that will make me a better teacher when I return. I even came up with three or four ideas for BloggEd posts. Watch this space.
